On 17th October, Secondary school tournament in volleyball was played. 7 teams  participated in that district round. We were divided into two groups, one of 4 and the second of 3. We, as the organizers, were in the easier group for us which contained Religious Grammar School and Secondary Technical School INFIS.  In view of the fact that they didn´t have any volleyball players, we let play them substitutes for us. We won against both teams and we moved to the quarterfinals, where we defeated Sports Grammar School, which weren’t playing badly, but it wasn’t enough to win.

In Finals, we met Secondary School of Mechanical Engineering. It was very hard duel, beacuse they had 4 professional volleyball players in thein team. Eventually, we won, but it was very big battle. We took a cup for the first place, took a photo together and went home happily.

The next part, regional round, we played in Rokycany, where we had 3 opponents. Two easier ones and one though one, Grammar School Klatovy. There was sun which was shining into our eyes. We successfully coped with the probleme and qualifications to the republic finals was ours.

We planned a trip to Jindřichův Hradec next week. The way was long and exhausting. When we arrived there, we were looking for a gym. Firstly, we got lost in a wrong school, where we asked for a way. We were redirected to a sports area next to an ice arena. This large komplex had two sports halls. That time, we weren’t able to find where to go to a court. We finally got there and were surprised when we saw that none of teams was full of volleyball players. Our first opponent (Grammar School České Budějovice) had only two professional players, so it wasn’t hard to win against them. We were very happy that we had won. One match was still in front of us. A fight  against Secondary School of Mechanical Engineering from Příbram. We were dominating in the first set, so we got in the lead 1:0. It was hard match in the second set. Everyone  showed his best performence, so it prolonged the match a lot. We were losing 24:21, we didn’t stop fighting. Eventually we turned it around and we won 41:39 (set usually ends at 25). It was the longest volleyball set I have ever played in my life. My teammates had the same opinion. We were in euphoria, because we were excepting two strong teams full of volleyball players and the third place.

We didn’t get any cup, but an advancement to a republic finals in Žďár nad Sázavou, where we are going to play against 5 other teams. If we win, we will go to Serbia for a week, where the best teams from other countries are going to meet at a world championship.
