Have you ever gone on an exchange to another country? I have, and it was such a great experience. From June 3rd to June 6th, I participated in a student exchange program in Straubing in Germany. I was superexcited to the experience and different culture, see German friends and learn many new things. Let me tell you more about it.
The whole trip started on Tuesday, June 3. We left our school after 10 o´clock in a small minibus and arrived in Straubing around 12.30. We greeted our friends from Anton Bruckner Gymnasium and went to lunch together. I was very happy to see my German partner Daniel again and also the rest of the German students. Lunch was great – I had burger with fries. After the lunch, we got a quick tour of the school I was very impressed – two big gyms, very modern classrooms and a large canteen. Around 2 PM, the parents of our German partners came to pick us up, and we spent the rest of the day with the German families. My host family was really big – Daniel has five younger siblings. They were all very kind and I felt very welcomed from the first moment. On Wednesday, we took a train to Regensburg. We had a one-hour guided city tour, then lunch, and afterwards some free time to explore the city. Later, we visited the Museum of Bavarian history and did a bit of shopping in the shopping mall. In the evening, we took the train back to Straubing. On Thursday, we attended two lessons at school and then we visited the Nawareum Science Centre, which was very interesting and we learned about nature and technology. After that, we had a guided tour of Straubing and then we visited the Liberty Center. This is an entertainment center where we jumped on trampolines and played on climbing structures. It was so much fun! On the last day, Friday, we walked to the zoo, had lunch at a Café, and then it was time to say goodbye to our German friends.
I would rate this trip 10/10 if I could, I would give even more. It was a fantastic experience and so much fun. I will always remember this trip I recommend it to everyone.
