Today, I would like to tell you about my experience on a sport course held by my school Masaryk Grammar School, also known as the last fun trip before the graduation stress begins. We spent five days by the Lipno reservoir, between 3rd and 7th June. The sport course is an old tradition in Czech schools focusing on improving the relationships between students and teachers and of course there´s a lot of sport going on.
One of the things almost everyone was afraid of, was the actual camp. I did not know what to expect, since I have never been in this particular facility. But thankfully, all my worries disappeared when we arrived, the little cottages where we slept in groups of four were clean and perfectly OK, but we spent all our time outside anyway. The highlight of the camp was the kitchen. They made amazing dishes which was a surprise for me. Even the picky ones were very impressed by the food.
The programme we had was a mix of sports such as football, frisbee, softball, shooting etc. We also go hiking and canoeing. The canoeing trip would be my personal day and sailing around 25 kilometers and went through weirs was very exciting. The only negative experience I could think of was my whole body getting sunburnt even though I used sunscreen, but at least no I´m tanned.
Overall, the sport course was a success. We got to know each other a little better and it was so nice to get out of the city into the beautiful nature. I would totally go again and we all agreed, that we didn´t want to go home at the end. Even though we were sweaty and tired.
