This semester´s project day was held on the 7th May 2025. The main topics focused on the end of the Second World War and on the events around it. The project was connected with American soldiers and tracing them in Pilsen. As Pilsen was deliberated by US Army 80 years ago.
Our school prepared numerous check-points somehow connected with this anniversary. You could either organise and prepare a check-point or participate the prepared activity with your class.
My class and I decided that we would like to create our own check-point, where we would focus on the joy created by freedom. And one of the ways people expressed their joy was through dance and that´s what we decided to do. We´ve wanted to teach people our national dance called “Polka”.
In the morning we arrived in class and started setting “the scene”. We had flowers and each one of us wore the national colours. And then it all finally began. We started dancing/teaching. We had a really chill atmosphere and all of the groups were incredibly nice and the time was going by really quickly. Even though I was scared I will have nothing to talk about with the people, I find myself enjoying the talks with some of them.
I must admit this was probably the best project day I have ever experienced. Everyone was nice and positive and it seemed to me that people really enjoyed our check-point.
