Today´s lecture with an environmentalist from Pilsen was pretty interesting. His name is Jan Hvízdal and he came to our school to tell us about hist travelling experiences. He travelled to the North where he worked with polar dogs and he experienced wonderful things.

His firs journey started when he turned 26. He was lost and wanted to make a change. He quit his job and visited New Zealand, where he made money for his next journeys.

This first visit of the North wasn´t very easy for him. When he first arrived to Spitzbergen there was a polar night and no daylight for the first three months. He was very exhausted from the work he did – taking care of polar dogs. The dogs didn´t know him, so they were quite wild at first, but after a couple weeks it started getting better and he could actually enjoy it.

The whole lecture was so inspiring. He motivated us to travel, to study abroad and not to be afraid of trying something new. He is so glad for the life he made and that he lives happily. He wouldn´t have had this life if he hadn´t done the first step. We have to be brave and dream big, because we are capable of a lot.
