During the week before Christmas, the week the typical Christmas mood appears, there was a high school indoor football tournament that took place at Lokomotiva Sport Hall and was divided into two days. Masaryk’s grammar school sent both, girls and boys, to fight the title in this Christmas tournament. The teams were split into groups and two best of them from each group advanced into knockout stages. There were five teams in every group.
Boys’ group was tough and therefore they lost their first two matches. The group for girls was drawn more politely. Even though they lost their second match, girls managed to draw the first. Because of a huge amount of high school teams there were terribly long breaks between the matches teams played. The participants had to shorten the waiting by watching the games, reading or discussing the tactics for the next match.
After three hours the last matches of the day waited for Masaryk’s to play. Boys and girls finally won their games and were looking forward for the next day to fight for their beloved school.
The day after there were two games left to play. Boys lost their first match but managed to win 7:0 in their last appearance and took 9th place. Girls won both games even though two of their key players weren’t able to play and took 6th place.
