The students of seminar of modern history visited State Regional Archives in Pilsen on 20th and 23rd October. Among old documents and numerous numbers of shelves filled with old files, we were guided by the director himself – Mrs. PhDr. Karel Řeháček, Ph.D, was a great guide. He also had a great introductory lecture about the institution and general info about the laboratory as such. The lecture was dedicated to the documents connected with the WWII (funds of justice administration, courts, schools, educational institutions, national governments in former West Bohemian Region and private archives).

We were also interested in the area of the archives situated in former prison with cells and the chapel which serves as the best place to store old documents. This storage is even better than all those modern buildings designed and built for the purpose of storage of the old documents. The cells with some birth registers were most popular among students but nobody wanted to stay there for a longer time. Somebody might return here while working on their seminar or diploma theses while studying at university.

We would like to thank not only to the director of the archives but also to other workers that gave us their time.
