Year 2020 was supposed to be a great year, but unfortunately not everything goes as it should. We were all looking forward for many events, not knowing what was coming onto us. So did organisers of EYP Czech Republic, all very excited for National Conference in Kroměříž, which sadly never took place. When the crisis came, they had to face many problems and challenges, but never gave up. They had a very hard task, to connect people from all Europe, while global pandemic isolated all of us in our homes, and they did an amazing job.

Honestly, I was a bit afraid, that digital form of session would lose its very characteristic spirit, I even must confess that I was more afraid than excited about this particular session. But I couldn’t be more wrong.

All my fears just disappeared when I saw all those excited faces smiling at me from the screen. I didn’t feel like they were miles away, I felt like all these people were right here, with me, in my room. Everyone was working hard, but we never forgot to make a little break, have fun and entertain ourselves. One night, we were working till 3 a.m., we were all very tired of course, but we finished our work and I can safely say that we did an amazing job as a committee. The harder we worked, the more proud we were of ourselves and the better friends we were becoming. I would never say how much I can take to people only through computer connection. I would never say that I’d burst in tears during saying goodbye to people I’ve never seen in real life. However, European Youth Parliament has again convinced me that even seemingly impossible thing can become reality when there are right people partaking in.

I’m unbelievably grateful for this great opportunity I was given and I am really looking forward for taking part on more and more sessions and I want to become an active member of EYP Czech Republic.
