On the 20th of December our school visited a German city called Meissen. It is near Dresden in the federal state Saxony. This city is known for its porcelain. They had the first porcelain manufactory in Europe since they’ve been making it here since 1710.

Our journey began at 6:30 a.m. when we set off. We had one stop at a gas station near the border on our way there. We arrived around 10:30 a.m. and we went on a short walk through the historical city. We saw a few interesting monuments, such as the Albrechtsburg. Then we had a scheduled tour for the porcelain manufactory at 12 p.m. That was the most interesting part as we got to see every part of how the products are made and then we could walk through the whole museum freely. Everything was really beautiful and expensive.

After that we had free time from 3:00 till 5:30 p.m. We had some late lunch and then we visited the Christmas market where we tasted some German goods. At approximately 6:00 p.m. we set off back to Pilsen where we arrived at 9:30 p.m.

It was a very interesting experience and I’ve enjoyed it a lot. I’d definitely go again next time.
