There was a presentation about African civil wars and how people live there in our school. It had a form of texts about specific people and their stories. After that a Czech lady came and told us about her experience with Africa.

I don´t remember the specific names of the war´s victims and I didn´t read it all but it showed me that there are more problems in Africa than I thought before. I must say that the second part was more entertaining. I definitely learned more about Africa. The Czech lady showed us a lot of pictures, a catalogue with general prices of household items and food. They also made us look at Africa from a different point of view.

As I said earlier, I liked the second part a lot more but on the other hand, without the first part it would give us a wrong picture. So both parts are equally important. I was surprised how different my expectations were on how it works in Africa. It definitely gave me a lot and I would love to see more presentations like this. I am a little sad that I didn´t read it all and I hope I won´t make the same mistake next time. I would love to get to know other cultures as well.
