„It´s important to take part, not to win.“

Every year  around the same time  Mrs. Šedivá comes to us and says this sentence. So for the last 4 or maybe more years, when we participated in the Associated district and regional swimming competition AŠSK.

We all know, what does it means: Pack your swimming suit, towel and swimming goggles and meet us on 20th of November 2015 at 8 o'clock in front of the swimming pool. Despite some protests – because not all of us (namely me :-) are still active swimmers – we were standing there exactly at 8 and we were looking forward to jumping  into the water!

If you are asking who, WE means our 2 teams – the team of girls: Michaela Ulipová (OKB), Anička Kretková (OKB), Eliška Králová (OKA), Eliška Marková (KIA), Jitka Krocová and Petra Hauerová (both from KIB). It´s clear to all, that this composition could be strong enough. However for the victory we always need the solid base of the team of boys – which means: Martin Hrabačka (3. B), Martin Pokorný (OKB), Ondřej Jan (4. A), Lukáš Jan (1. A), Žák Jan (2. A) and Bucháček Lukáš (SXB).

And are you asking how we were swimming  this year in the V. category? Maybe the nice atmosphere and great mood of all competitors, perfect performances or just a drop of luck took us to the second place for girls and our „Golden Men“ became the best swimmers in our region!

So we all hope, that even though the oldest members are leaving these teams and the competition,  this tradition of great results will still continue the following school years (at least we hope so :-).

And remember – it´s good to take part, but to stand on the podium is always better!
