It all started on the 14th of February. We met before the sun rose at the train station. After a 2-hour train ride, we arrived in Špičák.
In the hotel, everybody had to find their room and unpack their luggage. When we finished, we went skiing. They divided us into groups based on our skill level. As someone who was in the beginner group, we were falling… quite a lot. But it’s okay because falling is a part of learning.
A thing a lot of people struggled with was cross-country skiing. With exceptions, a lot of us came back to the hotel with bruises. You could say that the majority was glad we only went twice.
Skiing wasn’t the only thing we did. 0ur teachers gave all the groups an assignment every day. Despite the obstacles, there may have been in the groups, it didn’t turn out half as bad. It improved our overall teamwork skills and we got to socialize with people we would never talk to otherwise.
There was plenty of time to relax too. You could watch a movie with your friends, play board games, or just talk.
To wrap everything up, we had a party the last night. It didn’t start well, but later on, it was tons of fun. Sadly, our curfew was at 10 o’clock.
On Friday the course came to an end. I wouldn’t say it was perfect because nothing ever is, but it was an amazing experience that I won’t forget.
